SNOW DAY!!!!

So I wanted snow... but seriously didn't mean to get it all at one time. Yesterday morning we had green grass and this morning I couldn't find the front steps to get to my front door... and I even snowblowed once last night. (One of the guys who works with Steve called to offer his help last night in shovelling and I got him to show me how to work the snowblower, thank goodness because I definetly wouldn't have been able to shovel myself out of the drive.) By 3 am the weather channel was reporting 25 cm of snow fall already in Fredericton and it was still snowing and with winds of up to 90 kms/hour !!! The kids had a blast trying to help Mommy with the snow. School was cancelled today and the base even called to let me know that they were on minimum manpower!

Getting in the Spririt!!

This past weekend was the Santa Clause Parade here in Fredericton, the weather turned cold that day but not nearly as cold as it has been out west, but we did need to dress in our warmest. Hannah enjoyed the parade, Nathan on the other hand didn't see much of it as he was tucked into the Chariot all snug and warm.
Steve left on Sunday for 3 weeks in Borden so that left me to decorated the house for Christmas with my favorite helpers... They were great, we only broke a few ornaments when Hannah decided that they should all hang together on the same branch... lesson learned by all...either I need non breakable ornaments or more direct supervision is needed...however no one was hurt in the incident.

Marie Josee & I waiting for the Santa Clause parade to start.

Hannah checking out the view.

Nathan & Hannah checking out all the ornaments...

Can't you see I'm decorating Mom??

What do you mean the balls have to stay on the tree?

Hannah is 3!!

We celebrated Hannah's third birthday this past weekend, she had a Princess themed party and invited 6 of her little friends to join her at her castle. I didn' t think that all the girls would come but surprise surprise they did... we had a great time, they made crowns, played castle, balloons ate lunch then had a princess cake (made by mom). Hannah is such a lucky girl, she received so many wonderful gifts and she had probably her best birthday ever (although it was more like a birthday week than a birthday as the presents started arriving on Wednesday and she was still opening gifts on Sunday, the actual date of her birth).

Eating Bones

Ok so Nathan is the pickiest eater ever... he will only eat what he wants when he wants, has to feed himself and if he doesn't like the feel of a food forget it getting near his mouth. Last night I made ribs for supper, Hannah is almost three and it was the first time she has eated them... Nathan is sitting at the table making all kinds of noise so Steve litterally thows him a bone and the kid goes crazy... then we managed to swap the bare bone for one with meat on it and he never looked back... He ate two full bones. I am still in shock that he actually ate meat on a bone!!

Welcome Home Troops!!

Yesterday the base held its official Welcome home celebration for the troops and just like the one for before they left the weather did not cooperate. We did get there without being soaked to the bone and we had a good time, the petting zoo was the highlight of our day as Nathan has not seen too many animals in his life and his reactions were priceless. (The little baby goat that Hannah & I are checking out was born only 3 hours before.)

Picking PUMPKINS

We took the kids out to pick pumpkins last weekend... they just loved it. Hannah had to find the perfect one and Nathan was amazed at all the orange balls!!
