Trip to Edmonton

Well we made it to Edmonton in one piece, we landed last Tuesday, Sept 19th, on mom's birthday. It was a long day what with leaving Fredericton at noon and arriving here at 6pm local time, but we did survive the two connections and Hannah not napping for the day. It was quite the experience, Hannah was so excited to see airplanes for the first time that she remembers. We were met at the airport with quite the welcome crew, Nan, Pop, Uncle Brent and Uncle Jimmy. It took the three vehicles to get us and our luggage all home.

a few more pictures

So I forgot to add the picture of me in Hannah's car so I thought I'd add a few more. One of a fish Steve caught this past weekend while out fishing with a friend of ours (the guy in the picture holding the fish is Guy). Just thought I'd compare it with a fish my brother caught last week. To be fair Steve was fishing in Wasis Lake, NB and Brent was in the Fraser River, BC.

Two months old already.

Time sure flies when you have children. Nathan was two months old this past Tuesday... can't believe it. He is doing well, growing like a weed. We had a doctor's appointment and his needles that day. He weights 11 lbs 5 oz and is 22 5/8 inches long.
Hannah is still in love with her baby brother. She has begun talking non stop... wonder were she gets that from.... apparently some genetic mix up happened. It is so funny to hear her go... she mixes French and English and she is getting very bossy. It seems like every other word is NO MINE, or NO mommy, daddy. I am beginning to wonder if she will ever out grow NO and learn YES. My parents are going to get a kick out of her that is for sure.
I am so excited we only have 3 more sleeps until we fly back to Edmonton for just short of a month. I can't wait to introduce our families & friends to Nathan and show off Hannah and her smarty pants. We are however not really looking forward to flying with two young children but Hannah has her own seat and will have to be buckled into her car seat for the flight, so that may help or make life miserable. We are tempted to rent a U-haul to get us home to Mom & Dad's what with all the stuff we are bringing but hopefully both our brothers will also be at the airport to meet us, and thankfully they both have trucks.
The pictures are of Hannah eating the chocolate cake she helped mommy make...wow was she ever excited about helping and even more so about eating it. Nathan showing off his first band aid, mommy & kids this morning and Hannah trying to push mommy around in her toy car... needless to say mommy got stuck and needed help getting out so Steve took the opportunity to take a picture.

Cousins

Wow, can you believe it is already September. I can't, time sure flies with little ones around. Speaking of little ones around, we spent the long weekend with Steve's sister Nancy and her family as they drove up from Halifax so that the 4 cousins could spend some time together. Nancy& Ken had baby Logan just 15 days before Nathan arrived. Hannah had a blast with Joshua... and he with her. The "little" ones were great together. Hannah was amazed to have another baby in the house. She was also very proud she could say Nancy, Ken & Joshua... she had a hard time with Logan so he was called big baby a number of times. Mommy too was amazed by the difference in the two "babies"

Steve is off!!!!!!

Well today was Steve's last day at work for the next 4 months. He decided to take some parental leave as I didn't earn enough hours to take any this time...and this will be his last opportunity to do so. We are really looking forward to having daddy around full time for a while. Nathan went for a check up on Tuesday and is a whopping 10 lbs 1 oz and 22 inches long (he was 7 weeks old on Wednesday) is he ever getting big, he is growing out of most of his clothes... good thing Logan is such a big guy... Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ken and the boys are coming up this weekend, and are bringing us some clothes for Nathan...just in time I was going to start dressing him in pink dresses...kidding.

Hard to believe that it is already the First of September. We have decided to take the kids back to Edmonton to visit... and are leaving in just 18 more sleeps... I don't know who is more excited me or Mom... (definetly mom according to Brent). It should be a good time, mom and dad are on vacation for most of it and Jimmy& Jenn's house should be ready while we are there... so we'll get to check it out. We will also get Nathan baptised on Oct. 8th at the base church.

Jimmy & Jenn have set the date and location for their wedding........Jamaica, Ocho Rios... Feb. 14th. What a vacation.
